MALOSSI MHR REPLICA CYLINDER KIT DIAM 50MM IN ALUMINUM FOR 2T APRILIA 50 MX / RS / TUONO
THERMAL UNIT
The Malossi cylinder kit guarantees high performance and significantly improves the power of your motorcycle or scooter. The kit consists (in most cases)* of a cylinder, piston, and head.
After installing the thermal unit, it is recommended to run it in.
*Not all Malossi thermal group kits are made up of a cylinder, piston and head
MHR REPLICA thermal groups
The MHR REPLICA line of thermal units was created specifically for the 70cc Automatic National Scooter Trophy competitions.
These thermal groups were created to guarantee competitiveness and resistance at the highest levels in this category.
The peculiar characteristics of the Malossi MHR Replica thermal units are: pistons with two chromed rectangular segments and a compression ratio of 13.8:1, torque of 7.35 Nm (0.75 Kgm) at 8,000 rpm and power of 6.6 Kw (9 HP) at 8,500 rpm.
The entire Malossi MHR line is the fruit of many years of experience accumulated in European and National competitions.
These thermal groups are mainly composed of cylinder-piston-segment-head and are available in water-cooled and air-cooled versions.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS of thermal units
CYLINDER
- Material: special aluminum alloy with a high percentage of silicon and titanium which guarantees high non-deformability at high temperatures.
- Heat treatment: special tempering and stabilization process that gives the material high toughness and rigidity, ensuring consistent mechanical and dimensional characteristics up to temperatures of 250°C.
- Chip removal machining: performed on numerically controlled work centers with extremely tight dimensional and shape tolerances (cylindricity, roundness, perpendicularity).
- Internal surface coating: made with silicon carbide coating on a nickel matrix, heat treated to guarantee extremely high hardness of approximately 600 HV0.1/5 with extremely high wear resistance.
- Internal cylinder machining: with special machines that allow for a very high level of finishing to be achieved on the sliding walls with roughness intersections according to the angles set during the design phase (polishing).
- Exhaust and transfer diagrams: designed and built specifically for competition. Defining the exhaust and transfer diagrams required considerable effort by our technicians on static engine test benches and on the racetracks where the trophy is held.
PISTON
- Material: special alloy with a very high percentage of silicon to ensure extremely high heat resistance and non-deformability when temperatures vary.
- External coating: tin coating which guarantees a very low friction coefficient.
- Structure: reinforced to withstand the stresses imposed on a top-level competition cylinder kit, but at the same time retains a notable lightness in order to reduce inertial forces.
- Band: single band with rectangular section in 1 mm spheroidal cast iron with hard chrome plating on the external surface.
SEGMENTS
- Segments in high mechanical resistance spheroidal cast iron with ground and lapped wear-resistant hard chrome coating on the contact surface.
HEAD
- Material: Special aluminum alloy with high heat exchange coefficient.
-Geometry of the heat exchange surfaces recalculated and enlarged.
- Completely redesigned combustion chamber for high compression ratio with ultra-high turbulence.
-Processing on numerically controlled machines.
